Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum age limit to work in Dubai ?

Expatriates can renew their labor cards / work permit up to the age of 65 (or 70 for a selected list of professions). The renewal is yearly instead of three-yearly over the age of 60. Previously the age limit was 60, or 65 for the following professions: engineers, doctors, university professors, accountants and auditors, laboratory and electronic equipment technicians, specialists in privately-owned oil companies, specialists in the media, lawyers, translators, and consultants in all fields or other professions agreed on by the undersecretary of labor or the assistant undersecretary.
How does Jobs in Dubai refund the $92 CAD to its clients?

You can only have the processing fee refunded after 6 months / 180 days after being registered with Jobs in Dubai and have not been able to secure employment through us. You have to click on the "refund" button on the website and complete the refund form. Payments will be mailed out to your given address which can take from 6 to 8 weeks to process after receiving the refund request or alternatively credited back to the credit card initially used to make the payment. Please note that this service does not take into account currency fluctuations as we refund exactly the amount paid at time of registration.
Why do you have a 10 day deadline for payments?

First off, we want to ensure that there is no delay in activating your resume online, since that would be the first step in ensuring that employers have visibility and access to your resume. Secondly, our turn around time for custom searches from employers is 48 hours. We do not want you to miss out on a job opportunity and by acting quickly you are increasing your chances of getting placed. Several of the job requests we receive are on an urgent basis and employers are looking to hire immediately.
How will I know that you received my payment?

You will be sent a confirmation email after your payment is processed, along with your file #, which you can use to log in and check the progress of your application or update your resume and Snapshot.
I made a payment and did not get a file # as yet to login to your website ?

If you have not received your file # as yet please e-mail us as soon as possible so we can activate your account online. Not receiving your file # in rare circumstances usually occurs due to high spam filtration on your email account. After a payment is made, you should receive a payment confirmation email that gives you your log in access information along with your file #. PLEASE SAVE THESE DETAILS TO YOUR COMPUTER AS YOU MAY REQUIRE TO USE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. That email is sent out by JID staff immediately and could get spam filtered by your email host if your spam filtration is set on "high". Please add our email address to your address book to maintain future correspondence with JID and its network. Please include the following information in your email request. Subject: Missing file # First Name Last Name Date Payment Made Amount Method of Payment Additional Email Address Please provide us 24 - 48 hours to process this request.
What does JID do after I have made my payment?

Once we receive your payment, you will be assigned a file # which will be used to create a snap shot. Check the status of your application online, update your profile and add / edit your resume. Please make sure all your information is up-to-date so there is no delay in your placement.

What does JID do to get me placed with a job opportunity ?

If you have received an acceptance email for a particular position that would mean your resume matches a position / positions that we are currently recruiting for an employer. As a registered member of JID, your resume will also be made available to over 8000 registered employers of JID across the UAE and Middle East region. We will also submit your resume during custom searches to potential employers that post similar job postings that match your qualifications until you are placed successfully.
Why is your service offered free to UAE residents and GCC Nationals and not other foreign nationals?

The law in UAE requires that we scrutinize every picture that is posted on the site in order to adhere to the strict law pertaining to posting pictures on websites. For UAE nationals and residents, our requirement is that they present a copy of their passport and visa, which act as legal validation for their identity and also serves the purpose of loading up a SnapShot for the candidate. For candidates from other countries, while we strongly encourage posting a resume SnapShot, it does require our staff to closely review and approve all images posted. This additional effort and resource is why we charge the deposit fee. Please note that having a picture resume SnapShot is always an advantage because 95% of our employers prefer to view candidates that have a complete resume SnapShot. If you do not wish to pay a deposit to secure a resume SnapShot and take advantage of its prominence on our main website portal, simply advise JID staff members via our contact support options located in your Temp Account. Jobs In Dubai offers a specialized recruitment service that is personalized to each candidates needs.
How can I let you know that I am interested in a posting?

You might see positions posted that match your qualifications word for word, but please be assured we have no control on which candidates are selected by employers. As long as your resume is up to date and your Snapshot has a picture on it with objectives and experiences clearly stated, your chances of getting hired are definitely greater.
How long does the relationship between the applicant and your firm last? Until the job search is complete and the applicant is successful or until the first opportunity is presented?

The relationship with our clients is ongoing. If you do accept an offer through Jobs in Dubai and work for a company for a couple of years and decide to change jobs, then you can send us a new job placement request at any time.
