Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES - Strategically manage and guide the transmission support operations for the Brigade and Battalion Headquarters, ensuring compliance with DoD and Army engineering policies.
- Maintain an active role in documenting transmission requests and approvals, and prepare necessary technical documentation for satellite and fiber optic systems.
- Assist the Communications and Electronics Officer (CEO) in ensuring 100% functionality and reliability of transmission equipment, ensuring all authorized equipment is operational according to specifications.
- Manage excess transmission equipment and redistribute it throughout the Brigade, and monitor unit transmission personnel actions.
- Collect and maintain detailed records of the 160th Signal Brigade transmission systems using GCSS-Army and other relevant tools.
- Track transmission equipment shipments and take action to expedite delivery when required by the Government.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans and load configurations, and manage the deployment of government transmission equipment and systems via various approved methods.
- Support the collection of reports on all transmission equipment within the 160th Signal Brigade and coordinate with subordinate units to ensure proper functionality and maintenance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Security Clearance: Must possess an active SECRET clearance.
- Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
- Certifications: Information Assurance Management (IAM) level II certification as per DoD 8570 requirements.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience; PhD with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Advanced Degrees and Certifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Information Systems, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications relevant to transmission management, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Specialized Experience:
- Over ten years of transmission support experience specifically in defense or military environments, demonstrating a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these sectors.
- Experience with Army engineering software systems and tools, such as RMF, DISA, and STIGs.
