Data Analyst (Interim 1-3 months)
Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Data Analyst to support our Leadership team for our client, Graphene Innovations Manchester (GIM) UK. GIM is a pioneer in sustainable technology, addressing critical global issues such as climate change, water scarcity, and plastic pollution.
GIM leverages award-winning innovations in graphene, robotics, and Artificial Intelligence to develop impactful solutions. Our products include GIM Concrete, GIM Hydrogen, and GIM Space Station. As we expand into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we are establishing a new company, GIM Graphene Fibre, and a factory at Oxagon. Our mission is to build a Unicorn Business within the next 12 months, and we need a dedicated Data Analyst to help us achieve this goal.
Role Definition:
Location: Oxagon, NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with extensive global travel
Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Cleaning:
- Gather data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Clean and preprocess data to prepare it for analysis.
- Data Analysis:
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to discover underlying data structures and relationships.
Data Visualisation:
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports to present data insights clearly and effectively.
- Use data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Statistical Analysis:
- Apply statistical methods and techniques to analyse data.
- Conduct hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other statistical analyses to support business decisions.
Critical Thinking:
- Think critically to ask the right questions
- Identify relevant data sources and interpret results in a meaningful way.
- Challenge assumptions, considering different perspectives, and drawing logical conclusions.
Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarising data insights and recommendations.
- Communicate findings to management and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
- Collaborate with wider team to ensure data infrastructure supports analytical needs.
- Ensure data privacy and security standards are met.
- Maintain documentation of data sources, methodologies, and processes.
Communication:
- Effective communication is crucial for explaining complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to present findings clearly and concisely, using visuals and storytelling techniques to make the data engaging and understandable.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Data Analyst) is a plus.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Knowledge of data manipulation and database management.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data findings in an understandable manner.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
