SQL SERVER Production DBA
The solution is a multi-tiered enterprise application which includes a mobile location database with sizes of 50 TB+. This position will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and proactive maintenance of these databases in production at worldwide customer installations.
Overview of Responsibilities:-
- Lead production database maintenance of all product instances (10 TB … 50 TB+ databases).
- Maintain all database backup and restore verification processes.
- Design and Implement all OLTP & BI databases for all production projects that often exceed 50TB in size for SQL Server.
- Design and Implement Partitions, Partitioned Indexes, Spatial Indexes.
- Analyze and redesign queries resulting in optimal performance.
- Design database schemas, partitions, indexes, stored procedures, triggers, rules, ETLs.
- Design and implement clustered databases.
- Design databases to support business applications ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability.
- Review product architecture and specification documents.
- Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views or related database structures.
- Influence technical and business members at different levels of the organization to ensure data models align to strategic objectives.
- Provide expert data analysis of production data.
- Design partition archival mechanisms, backup mechanisms, bulk data load mechanisms.
- Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements.
- Collaborate with system architects, software architects, design analysts and others to understand and solve business requirements.
- Adjust necessary query plans and indexes for high performance.
- Implement strategies for server application with respect to OLTP vs. BI workload query access patterns.
- Maintain highly responsive OLTP workload that deals with massive amount of data.
- Help implement a high quality product with very few defects.
- Help implement high quality product that will stay up in production 24 by 7.
