Job Description
We are currently seeking a DESIGN ENGINEER (STEEL STRUCTURES) who has extensive experience in the metal or steel industry to join our team in Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates.
Job Description:
- To execute detailed design calculations, review shop drawings, and execute connection designs for complex steel structures. Coordinate with various stakeholders, conduct site visits, and provide guidance to other fellow engineers.
- To design strategies that align with the companys branding and business goals with steel industry trends and competitors design initiatives.
Please note that the role is based in our office headquarters at Umm Al Quwain. Previous experience in the steel and/or construction industry will be an advantage to you.
Responsibilities:
- Skillfully plan and analyze steel structure elements for a wide range of construction projects, making sure they meet the needs of the project.
- Making manufacturing drawings and different project layouts with the help of different planning tools.
- Work with manufacturers to make a bill of materials, a bill of quantities, and a request for quotation for buying steel equipment.
- Be in charge of the project and make sure that all quality control processes that apply to design are being followed.
- Attend to the feedback provided by clients concerning contractual obligations and supplier specifications.
Requirements:
- Specialist in steel structure design, preferably with a steel company background.
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably from the steel industry.
- A bachelors degree in civil or mechanical engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements is mandatory for this position.
- Strong collaboration skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in structural calculation is a plus.
- A valid drivers license is a plus.
