Job Description

The ideal candidate must have prior experience in any part of Africa - East, West, North or Sub Saharan. They will be responsible for appointing and managing distributors in the assigned territory. They will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the sales strategy for each market within the assigned region. They will have strong management and coaching skills to support the learning and development of the sales team. They will be tasked with delivering an annual sales target in excess of $20 million. They will work closely with the Brand, Trade Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain internal teams to ensure that the distributors have the required products and necessary tools to achieve the joint business plan – POS material, Promotions, ATL, BTL, Digital Marketing etc.

Responsibilities
• Full P&L responsibility for their region
• Ensure robust sales plan is in place to achieve defined monthly, quarterly and annual targets
• Should have the ability to appoint new and manage existing distributors across the specified region for a particular cluster of brands
• Coordinate with sales team to generate and meet with new customers in the Modern Trade, Traditional Trade and Wholesale channels
• Track and report all sales, trade marketing and new product launch activities
• In-depth understanding of competitors brands, pricing and go-to-market strategies and shaping the sales plan to always stay 1 step ahead
• Develop and execute sales strategy through market analysis
• Support the learning and development of internal and distributor sales teams through effective coaching, guidance and mentoring practices
• Must be willing to travel and spend time in-market with distributors sales teams
