Job Description

Job Role:-

As a Construction Site Doctor, your primary role is to safeguard the health and well-being of workers on construction sites. Youll provide medical care for injuries and illnesses, conduct health assessments, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards. Collaboration with site management, implementation of preventive health measures, and responding to medical emergencies are key aspects of this role. Additionally, you may be involved in health education, promoting a safe work environment, and contributing to overall worker health on construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Emergency Medical Care: Provide immediate medical care and first aid for injuries and illnesses that occur on the construction site.
  • Health Assessments: Conduct regular health assessments, pre-employment screenings, and periodic medical examinations for construction site workers.
  • Occupational Health Compliance: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Preventive Health Measures: Collaborate with site management to identify and implement preventive health measures, including vaccination programs and health education initiatives.
  • Medical Emergency Response: Develop and implement protocols for responding to medical emergencies on the construction site, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
  • Injury Prevention: Work with site management to identify potential health and safety risks, implementing measures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
  • Health Education: Conduct training sessions on health and safety practices, including awareness of potential hazards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for construction site workers, documenting medical assessments, treatments, and vaccinations.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate health-related information to site management, workers, and external medical professionals when required.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other health and safety professionals, site managers, and project teams to integrate health considerations into the overall safety plan.
  • Medical Resource Management: Manage and maintain the hecessary medical supplies and equipment required for emergency response and general health care on the construction site.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare reports on health-related incidents, trends, and recommendations for improving health and safety practices on the construction site.

Education and Qualifications:-

  • Obtain a medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited medical school & must have OCHP license.
  • Gain experience as a medical professional, and ideally, in roles related to occupational health, emergency medicine, or general practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Certification in BLS and ACLS is often required for responding effectively to emergencies on construction sites.
  • Familiarize yourself with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to construction sites.
