Job Description
Structural Design and Analysis:
- Develop detailed structural designs for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects utilizing reinforced concrete.
- Conduct rigorous structural analysis using engineering software and calculations to ensure designs meet safety and performance standards.
- Incorporate reinforced concrete elements such as beams, columns, slabs, and foundations into design solutions.
Reinforcement Detailing:
- Specify and detail the appropriate types and configurations of reinforcing materials (e.g., rebars) for concrete structures.
- Ensure proper placement and anchorage of reinforcement to optimize structural integrity.
Code Compliance:
- Stay updated on local and international building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to reinforced concrete structures.
- Ensure that all designs and constructions adhere to relevant codes and regulations.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and project managers to integrate reinforced concrete elements into overall project plans.
- Provide technical support to project teams and address any structural issues during the construction phase.
Material Selection and Testing:
- Specify and oversee the testing of concrete mixes, reinforcement materials, and construction methods to meet project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess potential risks related to reinforced concrete elements and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing structures for renovations, repairs, or retrofitting involving reinforced concrete.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports related to reinforced concrete design.
- Provide clear and concise documentation of design calculations, assumptions, and justifications.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay abreast of advancements in reinforced concrete technology, construction methods, and structural engineering practices.
- Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and training programs to enhance professional knowledge.
Client Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and expectations for projects involving reinforced concrete.
- Present design proposals and project updates to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as ETABS, SAFE.
- In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete material properties, construction methods, and industry best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Work experience in UAE minimum 5 years
- Excellent knowledge of the Dubai Building code
- Accreditation from Dubai municipality MANDATORY!
