Job Objective:
  • To supervise, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of the Piping & HVAC segment.
  • Ensure Piping & HVAC segment allocated work is undertaken within allocated budget and schedule in compliance to applicable industry Standards.
  • Ensure HSE compliance for all workmen
  • Coordination with QC & Client to meet all test / contractual obligations
  • Progress reporting of allocated work.
  • Manpower Administration.
  • Assistance to prepare department CAPEX budget Requirements
  • Providing Technical support for Operations Team.

Responsibilities:

Daily Operations
  • Organise, allocate and supervise work to all teams.
  • Daily tools box talks for Piping & HVAC department and encourage interactive sessions to all personnel to maintain conducive healthy working environment in department.
  • Liaise with QC / Client for test / inspections for smooth progress of work and work completions thereafter
  • Maintain and reporting of work progress data on as required basis.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance of all tools and facilities with department through adherence to maintenance schedules.
Project Proposal
  • Develop/Reviewing project Technical Specifications according to Owner and design Requirements.
  • On board inspection and scope definition (if required).
  • Define Mechanical; HVAC and Piping Scope, related Drawing/Document List, preliminary BOM, and Equipment list.
  • Ensure compliance with all Rules, regulations and statutory, and reflect its requirements to the design.
  • Collaborate with the other Engineering team Members effort to accomplishing the project proposal.
Project Design & Preparation Phase
  • Develop Mechanical; HVAC and Piping Engineering Scope plan by reviewing design, specifications, and according to defined Scope.
  • Develop/Review Project Design, Coordination, Production Drawings and 3D Modeling.
  • Develop/Review Project Equipment List, BOM, Technical RFQ, PRs
Project Execution Phase
  • Providing onsite Technical Support and Updating Work Procedures as per current Situation.
  • Resolving Material & Equipment receiving NCRs.
  • Resolving onsite QC NCRs.
Project Closing & Delivery Phase
  • Handling of Technical discussions with Vendors Service Engineer during Commissioning.
  • Updating Vessels drawings to as built Drawings.
  • Prepare Vessel’s technical documents for delivery.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Provide inputs and implement policies, systems and procedure for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
  • Look for areas of improvement
  • Periodical Evaluation and development of unit team, listing required training for continual development.
Reporting
  • Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet the companys departmental requirements, policies and quality standards.
  • Maintain project database in Technical Server and backup Project data.
Health & Safety
  • Maintain an awareness of all health and safety rules applying to the assigned tasks and tools to ensure that safe working practices are observed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Piping
  • Minimum 10-15 years experience in Piping: with at least 5 years of experience in a senior level position in Shipbuilding industry.
  • Should possess a wide range of experience in Ship / Rig repairs and New Build vessels in a reputed shipyard.
  • Adequate knowledge on Piping & HVAC activities and standards is critical.
  • Men & Material management to optimum levels be ensured through available techniques and tools
