Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Engineer located in Doha, Qatar. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing construction projects, conducting site investigations, assesses risks, and ensures safe project completion. They collaborate with stakeholders, provide technical expertise, and oversee structure implementation. Strong project management, communication, and engineering skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Site Inspection and Analysis:
· Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of construction projects.
· Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects effectively.
· Ensure compliance with local regulations and building codes.
Project Planning:
· Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other professionals to plan and design projects.
· Develop project schedules, timelines, and budgets.
· Evaluate project requirements and constraints.
Construction Supervision:
· Oversee and monitor construction activities on-site.
· Ensure that work is carried out according to project specifications and quality standards.
· Resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during construction.
Quality Control:
· Implement and enforce quality control and safety measures.
· Inspect construction materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Coordination:
· Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
· Communicate effectively with the project team and address any concerns or issues.
Documentation:
· Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders.
· Prepare and submit relevant paperwork for permits and approvals.
Problem Solving:
· Identify and address any issues or obstacles that may affect the progress of the project.
· Propose solutions and implement corrective actions as needed.
· Monitor project costs and expenses.
· Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Client Interaction:
· Communicate with clients to provide project updates and address any concerns.
· Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering projects on time and within budget.
Requirements and skills
· Minimum 2 to 3 years’ QATAR experience.
· Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar.
· Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.
· Project management and supervision skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· BS/MA in Civil Engineering.
