Job Description
Safety Engineer / Sr. Safety Officer prevents workplace accidents and reduces the risk associated with human error to ensure the proper functioning of machines.
He develops procedures and systems to prevent employees from facing workplace hazards by using their assessment, analytical and critical thinking skills, these professionals create engineered systems and designs to ensure that chemical, machinery or software do not harm employees or damage properties.
Part of his job role involves inspection of Area, facilities, safety equipment and machinery(s).
- Follow and design detailed safety plans to maintain a safe work environment.
- Investigate workplace accidents to understand the potential cause of the accident.
- Educate employees on best practices of using equipment and machinery.
- Ensure that employees wear PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
- Ensure Sub-Contractors implement workplace safety and health policies.
- Oversee the installation of Security & Safety devices on machinery.
- Make recommendations for improvement of Safety protocols and procedures.
- Create precautionary procedures and develop an accident response plan.
- Stay updated on government rules and regulations related to Safety and equipment advancement.
- Monitor workplace environment and facilities to ensure there are no dangerous situations.
- Identify and amend potential hazards by performing inspections on machinery and Safety Systems
