Job Description

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Completes all activities in accordance with Company safety procedures and manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring that all precautions are taken to isolate equipment prior to commencing work following all safety instructions and notices, and always wearing protective equipment.
  • Assists in the maintenance & testing pneumatic field devices and systems especially in wellhead safety panels components.
  • Knowledge of all the main international construction norms with respect to Instrument Tubing Fitting (Ability to interpret them and to supervise their application.)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical project documents such as isometrics, standards for support, P&IDs, piping arrangements, plot plants, alignment sheet, project installation procedures.
  • Experience in constructing instrument tubing.
  • Certification and Experience in connecting tubing with Parker or Swagelok connectors.
  • Receives incoming work requests, discusses work required with the Instrument Supervisor, and estimates time, materials or spare parts required to complete the work.
  • Receives schedule of job, with appropriate "Permit to Work" and arranges for tools, diagrams, and test equipment.
  • Corrective and preventive maintenance of pneumatic field devices.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation equipment and test procedures, Safe and proper use of test equipment’s like multimeter and loop calibrators.
  • Knowledge of electrical instruments, programmable logic controllers, DCS and turbine control equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Reports to Instrument Supervisor.
  • Completes job cards with details of job carried out and materials and man hours used to complete the work.
  • Participates in Company safety programs.

Job qualifications/requirements

  • 5 years’ varied installation, maintenance, and repair experience in instruments/tubing, ideally within the Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical industry.
  • Completion of Secondary (10 years) education, followed by 3 years' Diploma or
  • Apprenticeship in instrumentation Engineering.
  • Certifications as instrumentation tubing fitter.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Should be computer literate, having knowledge of MS application/ CMMS. (Preferably Oracle).
  • Familiar with Risk Assessment techniques: JSA, Task Risk Assessment/Operation Risk Assessment.
  • Knowledgeable in applicable international hazardous area classifications, and explosion proof standards
