Strategic Planning Manager

Reporting To: CEO
Position Purpose:
Responsible for devising and executing strategic plans aimed at fostering business growth and shaping the future of Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. This role also will be spearheading business development endeavours on a regional and international scale to broaden OCEC s influence and footprint.
Position Requirements:
- Education
Degree in a business discipline.
Experience & Skills
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in similar role
• Preferred experience in hospitality or MICE industry
• Experience developing strategy, planning and or supporting setting priorities at organisational level.
• Experience in project management including tools and approach.
• Good Understanding and use of strategic planning tools e.g. PESTLE, SWOT analysis etc.
• Proven experience of analyzing complex information to develop actionable insights and plans.
• Demonstrated proficiency in influencing skills and high degree of resilience.
• Experience of working with stakeholders at various levels including senior leadership.
-Specific Responsibilities Standards
Strategic vision and architecting
Conduct internal analysis of business comprising of resources, finance, operations, offerings etc
Develop a strategic plan for the company, including long-term and short-term goals that sync with the company s overall direction and fit for purpose, keeping the risks in mind.
Lead or coordinate the development of annual business plans and budgets in alignment with the strategic goals of OCEC.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic plans and initiatives to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
Articulating key performance indicators (KPIs) and crafting winning strategies to achieve them while also defining a structured progress roadmap including administering measures to collect, analyze, record and publish the progress to the leadership team.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all are aligned and working towards the shared objective.
Business development and growth
Conduct research to identify fresh business prospects, encompassing new markets, areas for growth, emerging trends, potential customers, strategic partnerships, and innovative products or services, as well as novel approaches to engaging existing markets.
Develop and implement data-driven strategic plans, identifying new business opportunities and untapped markets.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, industry partners, and government agencies to support business development efforts in addition to the internal sales, operations and marketing teams.
Collaborate with marketing to discuss and develop promotional activities and strategies.
Generate leads and or collect contacts supporting the sales team for new customer acquisitions.
Coordinate with finance and sales to develop competitive quotes based on competition and market analysis.
Represent OCEC at various industry trade shows and conferences.
