Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Dimension Control Surveyor - Mechanical. As a Dimension Control Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys, measurements, and inspections of mechanical assets in the oil, gas, marine, and renewable energy sectors. You will perform dimensional control activities using various precision instruments and software tools to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and project requirements.

  • Perform dimensional inspection allocated by dimensional control engineer or Sr. dimensional controller.
  • Preparation of inspection reports in line with requirements and project standards.
  • Analyze inspection data using AutoCAD 2D/3D or best-fit software, following classification society and/or yard standards and guidance from responsible engineers, including technical suggestions or corrective actions as required.
  • Lead, guide, manage, and train personnel assigned to the project and ensure they are working in accordance with relevant work instructions and OH&S requirements.
  • Maintain inspection documentation i.e. procedures, standards, reports etc.
  • Highlight DC inspection issues and report for nonconformity to superiors.
  • Follow-up and inspect fabrication assemblies on-site/on-board vessel for preparation and improvement of dimension control activities.
  • Maintain disciplines in the department by individual as well as by team.
  • Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications, Experiences & Skills

  • Diploma/Degree with Technical background in any engineering discipline with experience in Wind Farms, Jackets & Topsides
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience within the Offshore, Marine, FPSO industry
  • Knowledge of dimensional control industrial measuring software include Auto CAD with 3D handling
  • Knowledge of Survey Instruments (Total Station)
  • Knowledge of engineering production drawings/structural drawing for new building and conversion ship/ offshore structures
  • Knowledge of standards and tolerances for new building and conversion projects
  • Knowledge of various standards and fabrication methods including welding processes
  • Strong command of the English language with excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
