Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Rainy season responses in charge person. He shall be proficient in both Arabic and English language and be familiar with the Rainy Season Work Procedure from client with the objective to support the Client's Engineer with the best available information and proposals to respond to and resolve and manage any Incident or Emergency within the required response and resolution time.
  • Shall be responsible for effectively manage, monitor, and carry out all required proactive readiness measures and mitigation actions in advance of any rain event(s) throughout the year and during the Rainy Season, with or without alert(s) and/or instruction(s) from the Engineer, to prevent flooding and ensure continuous operations of affected areas / assets including, but not limited to, network systems, roads, underpasses, tunnels etc., and the impact (damage to any property and client’s image) of any rain event.
  • Responsible to coordinate and respond as directed by the Engineer to attend, or give priority to, any rain flooding occurring as specified by client's Engineer. The Coordinator Shall closely work with the client's Emergency Control Center (ECC) team during the entire Rainy Season events and any other special events (Sports Events, Expos, Government functions etc.)
  • The Rainy season coordinator shall prepare an annually updated Flood Mitigation Plan (FMP) and a Tanker Management Plan (TMP).
  • The management of incidents and emergency situations
  • Effective and courteous stakeholders’ coordination and communication
  • Rapid reinstatement of assets and operations with minimal impact to health and environmental ensuring all emergency standby machinery and equipment is fully functioning without defects;
  • Routine preventative and corrective maintenance including upgrades to its machinery and equipment;
  • Coordinating with the Authority;
  • Communicating maintenance schedules to the Authority including fine-tuning operation and systems;
  • Maintain and update of the Hotspot flooding register and provision of technical engineering solutions to mitigate incidents and risk of flooding.
  • Providing complete and accurate post-incident reporting to enable payment validation, lessons learned, and data supported decision making on required investments or operational adjustments.

Experience:

  • +10 (ten) years relevant experience
  • Experience with Drainage Operations and Maintenance

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or similar experience

Others:

  • UPDA-registered / or to obtain this year 2024 (For engineering degree holder)
  • Note: As per Qatar Law all engineer professionals must be registered to Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) by taking and passing the UPDA exam.
