If you have a passion for preparing ingredients and assisting in kitchen operations, we invite you to join our team as a Commis Chef. As a Commis Chef , you will play an integral role in supporting our culinary team. Your hard work and attention to detail will contribute to the seamless preparation of dishes and the overall success of our kitchen operations.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure meal ingredients, including seasoning meats and preparing vegetables and fruits.
- Career Growth.
- Assist in preparing basic salads and sauces as directed by senior chef
- Receive deliveries, verify their quality, and maintain inventory records of restaurant supplies. Notify superiors of low or depleted supplies.
- Ensure proper storage of all food items to prevent spoilage. Discard expired and spoiled items from stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Inform superiors of malfunctioning or broken kitchen equipment. Clean and sanitize workstations and assist in kitchen spill cleanup to prevent accidents.
- Plate and present meal items according to the senior chefs' instructions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or any equivalent certifications.
- An associate degree, diploma, or certification in culinary arts is advantageous, as well as a food handler's license.
- Proven commercial kitchen experience is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Effective communication skills to follow instructions and maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
