Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Horticulture Engineer to join our team. The Horticulture Engineer will play a key role in planning, designing, implementing, and managing horticultural projects, ensuring the health, beauty, and sustainability of our landscapes. This role requires a strong foundation in horticultural principles, plant science, and landscape design, as well as practical experience in project management and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design horticultural projects, including garden layouts, plant selection, and irrigation systems, in collaboration with landscape architects and clients.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate soil conditions, sunlight exposure, drainage, and other factors influencing plant growth and landscape design.
  • Select and source plants, trees, and shrubs that are suitable for local climate conditions, soil types, and aesthetic preferences.
  • Develop and implement plant health care programs, including fertilization, pest and disease management, and irrigation scheduling, to maintain the health and vitality of landscapes.
  • Supervise horticultural technicians and landscape crews during project installation and maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
  • Monitor and assess plant health and landscape performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in horticulture and landscape management, and incorporate new ideas and techniques into our practices.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors, providing expert advice, guidance, and support throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in horticulture, landscape design, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of plant biology, soil science, irrigation systems, and landscape construction techniques.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, or other landscape design software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
