Position Summary

Trideum Corporation has an opening for Firing Desk Supervisor (FDS). This is a full-time position, located in Udairi Range Complex (URC), Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

What You’ll Do

The Firing Desk Supervisor reports directly to the Range Operations Lead and performs a variety of supervisory duties related to monitoring range land conditions and utilization, supervising range use in accordance with the published Bulletin, supervises investigations of unauthorized use and inspecting or reporting on existing range improvement projects. He/she supervises duties at the customer service desk in order to enable uninterrupted unit training and supervises all Firing Desk Technicians.

  • Supervises range use in accordance with the published Bulletin.
  • Subject Matter Expert with AR and DA Pamphlet 385-63 for Range Safety.
  • Supervises unauthorized use investigations and inspect/report on existing range improvement projects.
  • Works outdoors in rugged terrain.
  • Supervises all Firing Desk Technicians; works alone, or with other people, during early morning hours and throughout the day.
  • Supervises and critiques all cyclic reports as directed in support of the ATROMS Program.
  • Supervises direct coordination with training units and other authorized organizations for all range facilities and training areas.
  • Supervises the enforcement Safety standards on all ranges and or training areas in accordance with DA PAM 385-63.
  • Assists the Firing Desk Operators/Technicians in the notification process and closing of all live-fire ranges with all MEDEVACs.
  • Monitors all range communications and ensures status changes within the ArcView (GIS) system.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Travel: Able to travel as required; active & current US Passport.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active and current US Passport is required
  • Advanced knowledge of job area. Practical knowledge of project management. Requires a related University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of four (4) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of military experience in training management and dismounted/maneuver range operations; preferably in a combat arms branch.
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with the ability to obtain GIS certification.
  • Able to complete the Range Operations Professional Development (ROPD) Program IAW AR 350-19 within 30-days of hiring.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
  • Highly proficient in reading and using a map, giving and accepting directions in topographical terms, and communicating map information to other members of the Range Operations Team.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Prior CTC (NTC/JRTC/JMRC) experience as an Observer-Controller/Trainer or extensive CTC experience as BLUFOR/OPFOR.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a contractor in a similar role.
  • Current Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Battalion level Master Gunner experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate Degree in related topic.
