Job Description

The Planning Manager in construction plays a critical role in ensuring that projects are meticulously planned and executed to meet established timelines and budgetary constraints. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, to develop comprehensive project schedules and monitor progress throughout the construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop detailed project schedules, including milestones, timelines, and resource allocations, using project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish realistic timelines and ensure alignment with project objectives and client expectations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and updates to project schedules based on progress, delays, or changes in project scope.
  • Resource Allocation and Management:
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and manpower required for construction activities.
  • Optimize resource utilization to minimize downtime and maximize productivity, while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Identify potential resource constraints or bottlenecks and propose solutions to mitigate risks and maintain project schedule adherence.
  • Risk Management and Contingency Planning:
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project schedules or budgets and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Establish contingency plans and alternate scenarios to manage unforeseen circumstances or project disruptions effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate project risks throughout the construction process and take proactive measures to minimize their impact on project timelines and deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project scheduling-related inquiries and updates, both internally with project teams and externally with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, including schedule performance metrics, critical path analysis, and variance analysis, to project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams to ensure alignment with project schedules and objectives.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Ensure that construction activities adhere to relevant quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct periodic quality inspections and audits to assess compliance with project schedules, specifications, and contractual obligations.
  • Implement corrective actions or process improvements as needed to enhance project efficiency and quality outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in same role
  • Immediately joiners are preferred
  • Previous experience in High rise is a must
