Job Summary
The GP Dentist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing the overall oral health care needs of patients. This includes conducting routine check-ups, performing dental procedures, and advising on preventative care. The dentist will also manage patient records and collaborate with other dental professionals to ensure the highest standards of care.
### Key Responsibilities
- *Patient Examination and Diagnosis:*
- Conduct thorough oral examinations using diagnostic tools like X-rays.
- Diagnose oral diseases, injuries, and malformations.
- *Treatment and Procedures:*
- Perform dental procedures such as fillings, root canals, extractions, crowns, and bridges.
- Administer anesthetics to limit patient discomfort during procedures.
- Provide preventive dental care, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
- *Patient Education:*
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and preventative measures.
- Discuss treatment plans and options with patients.
- *Record Keeping:*
- Maintain accurate patient records including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Update patient records after each visit.
- *Collaboration:*
- Work with dental hygienists, assistants, and other staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- *Compliance and Safety:*
- Follow all state and federal regulations for dental practice.
- Adhere to infection control and sterilization protocols.
