Junior Broker - Marine

What can you expect:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior Broker with 3 to 4 years of experience in marine broking. The ideal candidate will have a reasonable understanding of Marine Cargo and Hull Insurance and the ability to handle slips independently. This role requires excellent communication skills to interact with clients and insurers, a proactive attitude towards learning new skills, and a knack for developing strong interpersonal relationships.

We will rely on you to:
  • Independently prepare and handle cargo and hull slips.
  • Seek and obtain terms from insurers.
  • Analyze terms against the risks involved.
  • Present terms to clients for their consideration and assist in decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide suitable insurance solutions.
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms and secure the best possible coverage for clients.
  • Ensure that all broking activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Develop strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
  • Be open to acquiring new skills and knowledge to enhance professional growth.

What you need to have:
  • Previous experience in marine broking.
  • Good understanding of cargo and hull insurance.
  • Analytical skills to assess risk and evaluate insurance terms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
