Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Project: Construction of Substation and Underground Cable Laying (132kV, 110kV, etc.)
Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Electrical Engineer to join our team in Riyadh for a significant project involving the construction of substations and the laying of underground cables with voltage levels of 132kV and 110kV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, specifically in the design, installation, and commissioning of high-voltage substations and underground cabling systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Oversee and manage the construction and installation phases of substation projects.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Design and Engineering:
- Develop detailed engineering designs and specifications for 132kV and 110kV substations and underground cable systems.
- Perform electrical system studies and simulations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, etc.) to integrate substation designs with overall project requirements.
- Installation and Commissioning:
- Supervise the installation of high-voltage electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protection systems.
- Ensure proper laying and termination of underground cables, including jointing and splicing as needed.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical systems to verify functionality and compliance with standards.
- Quality Assurance and Safety:
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure all work meets industry standards and project specifications.
- Promote and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on-site.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to address potential hazards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, technical issues, and solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, tests, and inspections.
- Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage substations and underground cabling systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable to high-voltage projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT).
- Strong project management skills with experience in handling large-scale projects.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and adapt to project requirements.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate to Riyadh for the duration of the project.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
