Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Media and Broadcast Solution Architect to join our news agency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing technological solutions tailored to the needs of our broadcast operations and content creators. This role requires a deep understanding of digital media, broadcast operations, content management systems, studio technologies, media workflows, content creation, content distribution, content archiving, post-production, and editing. The candidate should have hands-on experience with industry-leading products such as Dalet, Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Media Composer, Bitcentral, Ross Video, Grass Valley, and other related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
**Solution Design and Architecture: **
· Develop and design comprehensive technology solutions for news broadcast and content creation projects.
· Create detailed architectural plans that integrate media asset management, content delivery systems, studio technologies, content management systems, and archiving solutions.
· Ensure that all designs align with the news agency’s strategic goals and industry best practices.
**Implementation and Integration: **
· Lead the implementation of media and broadcast technology projects, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
· Collaborate with journalists, editors, broadcast engineers, and IT professionals to deploy technological solutions.
· Ensure interoperability and performance optimization of various media technology products and platforms.
**Technical Expertise: **
· Provide expert guidance on media asset management systems, content delivery solutions, studio technologies, and other industry-standard technologies like Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Media Composer, Bitcentral, Ross Video, Grass Valley, and others.
· Evaluate and recommend new technologies and products to enhance the news agency’s media and broadcast technology stack.
· Stay current with advancements in digital media technology, broadcast engineering, and emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and cloud-based solutions.
**Broadcast Operations: **
· Design and implement efficient workflows for live news broadcasts, including live streaming, video-on-demand, and over-the-top (OTT) services.
· Ensure robust and scalable solutions for broadcast signal transmission, encoding, and distribution.
· Optimize broadcast operations to ensure high quality and minimal downtime.
**Content Creation and Post-Production: **
· Develop and implement technology solutions that support journalists and editors in their production workflows.
· Ensure smooth integration of editing, graphic design, and audio/video production tools.
· Facilitate efficient management, post-production, and distribution of digital news content.
**Content Archiving: **
· Implement robust archival solutions for efficient storage and retrieval of news media assets.
· Ensure archival systems support long-term preservation and easy access to content
**Project Management: **
· Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.
· Conduct regular project reviews and provide status updates to senior management.
· Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
**Training and Support:**
· Train and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
· Provide technical support and troubleshooting for media technology systems.
· Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and training materials.
Required Skills and Experience:
**Technical Proficiency: **
· Extensive knowledge of media asset management systems, content delivery solutions, and studio technologies.
· Strong understanding of audio, video, and broadcast equipment.
· Experience with content management systems, post-production tools, and archiving solutions.
· Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Media Composer, Bitcentral, Ross Video, Grass Valley, Harmonic, Telestream, and other broadcast production tools.
· Proficiency with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, cloud-based solutions, and automation tools.
· Knowledge of IP-based broadcast solutions and software-defined networking (SDN) in broadcasting.
**Professional Experience:**
· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in media technology and broadcast engineering.
· Proven track record of designing and implementing complex media technology solutions.
· Experience in leading and managing technical projects within the digital media and broadcast industry.
**Broadcast Industry Knowledge:**
· In-depth understanding of broadcast standards and regulations.
· Experience with various broadcasting technologies.
· Knowledge of newsroom computer systems and automation systems.
· Familiarity with archival systems and digital publishing platforms.
**Leadership and Soft Skills:**
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications:
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus.
