Outdoor Sales Representative - Garden Products
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Outdoor Sales Representative to join our team specializing in garden products. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and a proven track record in sales. This role involves direct interaction with customers, providing expert advice on garden products, and achieving sales targets through outdoor and field sales activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Engagement:
- Actively engage with customers in garden centers, nurseries, and outdoor events to promote and sell garden products.
- Provide expert advice on gardening techniques, plant care, and product usage to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and follow-up.
Product Knowledge:
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the garden products offered, including plants, fertilizers, tools, and accessories.
- Stay updated on the latest gardening trends, techniques, and products to effectively assist customers.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by implementing effective sales strategies and identifying new business opportunities.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the features and benefits of garden products.
- Identify and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize sales.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and trends in the gardening industry.
- Provide feedback to the management team on customer preferences, product performance, and market trends.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels.
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.
Event Participation:
- Represent the company at trade shows, gardening expos, and community events to promote garden products and engage with potential customers.
- Set up and manage product displays at events, ensuring they are attractive and informative.
Territory Management:
- Manage and expand sales territory by identifying potential customers and establishing new accounts.
- Plan and organize daily work schedule to visit existing and potential customers.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the garden or horticulture industry.
- Strong knowledge of garden products, plants, and gardening techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and carry garden products and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license
