Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to oversee our seafood processing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in salmon and seafood production, ensuring that all processes meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Achieve manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, and facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
- Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing changes.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Report plant or machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians promptly.
- Organize external contracts, such as cleaning or supplies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any field with relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in seafood processing, with a focus on salmon production.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing a production team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
- Proficient in computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control standards in the seafood industry.
