Kuwait College of Science and Technology is fully licensed by the nation’s Ministry of Higher
Education/Private Universities Council and started its operation in 2016 offering degrees in Computer
Science, Computer Engineering and Electronics and Communications Engineering. In 2022, the student
population exceeded 1800, and the first cohort of engineers has graduated. The University has an
outstandingly high research output in the context of the private universities in the Region.
One of the cornerstones of the University’s strategy is “Engineering with Leadership”, which means
that the University aims to produce engineering graduates who are aware and conversant with
management theory and techniques. Thus, its current engineering curricula already contains
significant portions of economics, management, and entrepreneurship. In the near future, a new
Faculty of Business Management will be launched.
The Department of Foundation is recruiting ambitious academics with a proven track record in
teaching.
Job Vacancy Physics Lecturer (Local candidates Only)
Candidates are required to teach and provide guidance to students in foundation physics. They are
responsible for preparing and presenting lectures, creating, and supervising examinations, and
marking examination papers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teach the assigned classes in Foundation programs including independent lectures and tutorials
and/or lab session.
• Teaching responsibilities are governed by department needs and will be determined every term
by the Director of the Foundation Program.
• Develop course syllabi and class materials in the assigned courses in coordination with course
coordinator and Director of Foundation Program.
• Participate in the review of Quizzes, Midterm, and Final Examinations
• Prepare multiple Final Exam versions, if required.
• Attending and contributing to meetings or events relating to the department.
• Any other task assigned to you by your Director of Foundation Program
All duties and responsibilities shall be carried out under the direction of your Course Coordinator and
are subject to evaluation by your Director of Foundation Program.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE:
• Min. Master’s degree in Physics or Materials Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering from
a reputed and international accredited University.
• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in the same field or high school.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Computer Literacy
• Having high attention to students and their needs
• Creativity and Self-Motivation
• Professional attitude towards work and colleagues.
• Experience in the supervision of students’ projects.
• Experience in teaching in the Middle East and GCC preferably and acute awareness of cross-
cultural differences in the worlds of teaching and learning.
