Job Description
As a steward, your primary role is to support the effective operation of the venue's service areas, maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency. You will play a crucial part in the overall guest experience by ensuring high standards of hygiene and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dishwashing and Cleaning:
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using industrial dishwashers or by hand as necessary.
- Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and service areas.
- Stock Management:
- Assist in receiving and storing supplies and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
- Assisting Kitchen and Service Staff:
- Support kitchen staff in food preparation tasks as directed.
- Assist servers and bartenders with clearing tables and resetting for next guests.
- Deliver food and beverages to designated areas as needed.
- Safety and Hygiene:
- Adhere to all sanitation and safety procedures.
- Follow proper food handling techniques and ensure cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and service staff to maintain smooth operations.
- Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to supervisors.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not always required.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures in a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
