The Planning Engineer is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Project’s Baseline Program, Progress Reporting, Claims Preparation, Supporting the Project Manager in identifying and controlling the critical Tasks. To ensure that Planning Deliverables are in line with the Project’s requirement and Company’s Standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare Resource Loaded Baseline Program, in line with the Project’s Contract Documents, and secure Client’s Approval.
  • Update the Approved Baseline Program, periodically, as specified in the Project’s Contract.
  • Prepare Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports, per Project’s Contract and Company’s requirements.
  • Ensure that all Planning Deliverables are in line with the Project’s Contract and Company’s Standards.
  • Generate and Update Project’s Cash flow, Resources Histograms and Main KPIs.
  • Prepare periodical detailed updates to be utilized by the Project Manager. Wherein critical tasks (affecting Progress, Completion and Cash flow) and windows of improvements are all identified.
  • Provide the Project team, periodically, with necessary look heads and Progress Insights, to ensure that the works are progressing according to Baseline’s Sequence/ Priorities.
  • Work with the Project team to ensure that the Contractor is at Concurrency Free status in case of unavoidable Delays, due to Delay Events not attributed to the Contractor.
  • Prepare EOT Claim Submissions, in line with the Contract Documents and Company’s Standards
  • Provide any Report/ Document, related to the Planning, might be requested from PM, Client and HO.
  • Manage the Planning Deliverables from the Subcontractors, and, conduct periodical meetings with the Subcontractors to ensure works are per the Contractor’s Baseline and Project requirements.
  • Monitor (and prepare periodical analysis) the Engineering and Procurement performance, to ensure that Construction Activities are not hindered due to Technical/Procurement deliverables/tasks.
  • Prepare/ provide to the Project Team/ HO any information (Planning related) that might be required during the course of the Project and post Handing Over.
  • Develop and maintain a Project Risk Register.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a similar position.
  • Preferably candidates with a degree or professional qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent with good proficiency in Primavera.
  • Candidates with Infrastructure structure project (Roads, Bridges, Tunnels, Utilities etc.) experience within Abu Dhabi will be an added advantage
