Job Function

The candidate is expected to contribute to the research entitled Embryo sex determination for optimal management and pregnancy evaluation in camels by providing veterinary expertise and sample management.

Responsibilities

To assist the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project in achieving the aims and objective of the research including:


  • Evaluation of fetal sex of camel embryos with high accuracy and precision using molecular techniques.
  • Evaluation of the quality of camel embryos using molecular markers and gene expression analysis.
  • Improving breeding practices by making informed decisions based on the sex and quality of embryos analysed.
  • Assist in the processes of sample collection, proper sample storage, data generation and analysis throughout the research period.
  • Drafting manuscripts from the data generated for publication in high impact factor journals.

To undertake any such duties as may be reasonably requested that are commensurate with the nature and grade of the post.

Experience

  • The candidate must have a strong research background in animal reproductive technologies, molecular or biomedical laboratory techniques, with an excellent publication record in high impact factor journals.

Demonstrated strong hands-on molecular techniques and skills in laboratory procedures and sample preparations.

Skills

The candidate must have the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to develop and maintain a research program and to publish in international journals.
  • Excellent background in molecular biology laboratory techniques.
  • Competence in IT skills.
  • Self-motivation with minimal supervision.

Ability to demonstrate leadership in outreach activities.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology or a related field
