Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement cost control procedures, monitoring systems, and reporting mechanisms for construction projects.
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
- Monitor project expenditures and analyze cost trends to identify areas of concern and opportunities for cost savings.
- Review and analyze contractor and supplier invoices, change orders, and payment applications for accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop cost estimates, cost plans, and cost reports at various stages of the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular cost variance analysis and prepare comprehensive reports highlighting deviations from budgeted costs and recommended corrective actions.
- Assist in evaluating bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide cost-related advice and support to project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements related to cost control and financial management.
- Participate in project meetings and reviews to provide updates on cost performance and contribute to project planning and strategy discussions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Control Engineer or similar role within the construction industry in the UAE.
- 5-10 years of experience
- Strong understanding of cost management principles, techniques, and practices.
- Proficiency in cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant UAE regulations.
Additional Requirements:
- UAE driving license preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the UAE as required.
