Job Description
An excellent opportunity is available with a financial services regulator based in Dubai for a Risk Authorisation Manager to deliver effective and efficient risk-based authorisation across a broad range of firms and entities, that wish to provide financial services in or from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
Reporting to the Director in Authorisation and in accordance with risk-based approach you will:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and process applications from existing authorised/ registered entities that cover a firm's regulatory lifecycle
- Assess new authorisation applications in accordance with risk tolerance
- Balance the imperatives of quality control, speed and stakeholder experience
- Handover newly authorised firms to the Supervision Division, taking an approach in a clear and defined manner
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions and contribute to the development of policy relating to authorisation issues so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
- Prepare departmental statements and reports timely and accurately to meet department requirements, policies and standards
The Risk Authorisation Manager will possess a degree in a field related to financial services and possess experience of having operated in a similar regulatory role within the financial services sector. You will have proven knowledge n dealing with financial services regulations and international regulatory standards. You will have a strong understanding of the responsibilities in this role and an appreciation of what it means to have a risk-based approach.
