JOB DESCRIPTION – Project Engineer
Job Purpose
Execute Projects engineer related tasks, for Facility Management activities, acting as owner of project’s standards (planning, control, delivery, development, Project Management). The scope of this program includes Engineering, Procurement, Maintenance, Installation & Commissioning Management.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as policies, guidelines and standards, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
The Engineer oversees organizing and supervising the execution of Facility Management Service. Together with the Operation team, the engineer is responsible for choosing the most economical, safe, and successful method to carry out the project.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day coordination, execution, and progress of project with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance team, Contractors, Vendors and third parties.
- In consultation with Operation Manager prepare the necessary Project Execution documentation (Project Execution Plan, Interface and coordination procedure etc.)
- Prepare Tender strategy and Tender evaluations for all the items being procured for the Project.
- Expediting with Subcontractors on Testing and Material delivery.
- Responsible for the project's administration, cost control, and budgeting.
- Manage budgets to control costs and provide guidance on budget variances.
- Plan the deployment of personnel, auxiliary equipment, and subcontractors.
- Execute the required Project service(s) including the defined technical requirements (as part of Project delivery requirements).
- Ensure the Project deliverables generated by Contractors meet Projects’ requirement in term of technical content.
- Ensure to follow Projects procedures such as Management plan, quality plan, level of approval.
- Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by technicians; in order to certify the objectives and all elements of the Projects are accomplished within budget, time and quality.
- Ensure HSSE and Quality control procedures are followed during the execution of all work and that a high standard of safety is achieved in all work related to the project.
- Participate and coordinate for Pre and Post award for different contracts for project executions and services.
- Coordinate and participate in Projects reviews, meetings and workshops.
- Ensure to have the right resources to supervise and inspect Projects execution and resource deployment as per project schedule and resources.
- Establishing methods and data as necessary and ensuring the selection of the optimum Projects design from both technical and economic standpoints.
- Regular contact with employees at site; demonstrating “visible leadership”
- As required go to site to guide working teams and assist in project execution
- Monthly proper reporting to the client covering Executive summary, HSE Statistics, Customer response, PPM achievement, plan for next month, Manpower details, Major issues or concerns etc.
- Coordinate with other maintenance teams.
- Complete know-how the maintenance system.
- Keep records.
- Prompt response and resolution of emergency repairs.
- Compliance with all applicable safety regulations and building codes.
- Ready to work in emergency situations.
- Quality and HSE inspection.
