We have an open role for the Title - Engineering Manager with a well-established
Oil & Gas Group in Qatar.
Key Accountabilities:
- Engineering Deliverables:
- Ensure quality of engineering deliverables in compliance with project requirements.
- Thoroughly document any deviations per project procedures.
- Engineering Problem Management:
- Understand key engineering problems and review priorities.
- Provide lead engineers with clear direction on action plans, priorities, and timeframes.
- Replication Philosophy:
- Implement the "Replication Philosophy" in engineering execution.
- Decision Making:
- Make timely decisions concerning approvals/rejections for deviations.
- Refer systematically to benchmark cases, perform due diligence, and consider both technical and execution risks.
- Schedule Management:
- Deliver engineering deliverables as per schedule without impacting succeeding activities.
- Notify relevant stakeholders well in advance of any delays to find solutions.
- Vendor Engineering:
- Ensure quality and timely completion of vendor engineering and documentation to avoid major technical problems on site.
- Engineering Completion:
- Ensure engineering activities are completed by in-house and third-party teams as per schedule.
- Prevent major pending engineering activities and problems from impacting field engineering and construction activities.
- Teamwork:
- Establish strong teamwork within the PMT Engineering team and site team.
- Technical Reviews:
- Perform thorough technical reviews of all technical change proposals, particularly those from Pre-FEED/FEED.
- Meetings and Reviews:
- Participate in internal and external key technical reviews, project meetings, tender evaluations, bid submissions, and management meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience:
- 15 years' experience mainly within the Oil & Gas industry.
- 8 years at project engineering management level with overall responsibility for engineering execution.
- 3 years in a key engineering discipline (e.g., Process, Civil/Structure, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation) with solid technical expertise.
Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- In-depth knowledge of onshore/offshore facilities design, construction, and operations in areas such as Process, Civil/Structure, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Material & Corrosion.
- Understanding of engineering coordination/administration (e.g., Document Control, MDR, Progress, Engineering tools, handover systems).
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in industry-standard software, CAD, 3D modeling.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
