HVAC Chiller Technician Role
A Chiller Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing chillers (refrigeration systems) and other related equipment. They diagnose problems, inspect and test systems, perform maintenance and repairs, and ensure that equipment is running efficiently and safely.
HVAC Chiller Technician Duties
- Inspect and maintain chillers and associated systems
- Diagnose faults, and repair or replace parts as necessary
- Carry out periodic maintenance and servicing
- Install chillers and associated systems
- Check and adjust system temperatures and pressures
- Prepare reports and log maintenance activities
HVAC Chiller Technician Requirements
- A recognized qualification in refrigeration or air conditioning
- Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Good problem-solving abilities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Ability to work unsupervised

- Installing and maintaining chillers
- Troubleshooting and repairing chillers
- Carrying out regular inspections and maintenance
- Identifying faulty components and replacing them
- Advising on energy efficiency improvements
