Job Title: Steel Fixer

Job Type: Full-Time – 4 years Contract
Job Summary: Our client is seeking a skilled worker to join their team. The Steel Fixer will be responsible for placing and securing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) in concrete forms, ensuring structural integrity and strength. The ideal candidate will have experience in steel fixing, a strong understanding of construction plans, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine steel reinforcement requirements.
- Cut, bend, and shape steel rebar to specifications using hand tools and machinery.
- Assemble and install steel reinforcement structures, including cages, mats, and grids, within concrete forms.
- Secure steel reinforcement in place using wire ties, clamps, and other fastening methods.
- Ensure that all steel work is correctly aligned and securely fastened according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Inspect and verify the quality and accuracy of steel reinforcement work before concrete is poured.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to coordinate steel reinforcement work with other trades.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and practices, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors and assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends, techniques, and best practices to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in steel fixing preferred.
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of steel reinforcement techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and machinery for cutting, bending, and securing steel rebar.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy steel rebar and construction materials.
- Comfort with working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for long periods.
Salary Package:
- QR 1,200 to QR 1,400 subject for negotiation based on Qualification and experience
