Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Marine Navigation & Communication Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of navigation equipment and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Installation and Maintenance:
* Install, configure, and test navigation and communication systems on vessels.
* Perform regular maintenance and inspections of navigation and communication equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Conduct system upgrades and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
· Troubleshooting and Repair:
* Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with navigation and communication systems.
* Repair or replace faulty equipment and components.
* Provide technical support to vessel crews and other stakeholders.
· Compliance and Safety:
* Ensure all navigation and communication systems comply with local, national, and international maritime regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Conduct safety checks and ensure systems are operating within safety guidelines.
· Training and Support:
* Train vessel crews on the operation and basic troubleshooting of navigation and communication systems.
* Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure effective use of equipment.
* Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and best practices in navigation and communication systems.
· Experience:
* Proven experience in working with a variety of navigation and communication equipment used on vessels.
