Job Description

  • Supervise, coordinate, and monitor the OSHAD program and provide specialist advice and assistance on OSH aspects to departments.
  • Participate in the development of safety procedures and safety training programs.
  • Enforce the implementation of occupational health & safety (OSH) in line with OSHAD (Occupational Safety and Health Abu Dhabi) framework and promote awareness of its use among all company employees.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare reports with recommendations for resolutions.
  • Ensuring all mandatory reports such as Form G, Form G1, Form E, Form C, Form F, and Form E4 to SRA (Sector Regulatory Authority) are reported by departments on time.
  • Develop and conduct safety training programs for all employees aimed to promote incident and accident reduction and prevention among personnel.
  • Participate in emergency response duties as outlined in the emergency response plan such as fire evacuation drills and emergency exercises.
  • Investigate and review, in collaboration with department managers, all incidents, and near misses and evaluate root causes and immediate causes and measures to be taken to avoid future occurrences.
  • To lead all fire safety-related issues within the operation, undertaking an internal audit of all equipment and fire exits weekly.
  • To lead on all first aid-related issues within the business, ensuring that all the material is fully stocked within shelf life, and replenished on time.
  • Reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and regulatory risks. Identify and escalate specific hazardous conditions to control or eliminate unsafe or health-threatening conditions.
  • Support the establishment of hazard identification, observation, and mitigation programs that will allow the operations to implement and monitor a hazard register for all identified hazards and subsequent hazard control plans arising from injuries, accidents, near misses, audits, workplace inspections, safety observations, and staff.
  • Conduct audits/surveys to measure performance on occupational health & safety and recommend appropriate actions with risk owners to mitigate against risk to enhance the safety culture. Develop and monitor awareness campaigns to heighten attention and focus on OSH performance to achieve excellence.
  • Support implementation of contractor safety management programs including review of method statements and risk assessments and issue PTW in compliance with the program.
  • Establish risk assessment procedures and coordinate with departments on assessing risks to identify risks around the business and review the effectiveness of the controls to reduce the risks to an acceptable level.
  • Support the planning, and preparation of safety action group reviews regularly to discuss with management and key stakeholders all occupational health and safety issues with a review of all operational risks, controls, incident outcomes, and safety performance indicators. Monitoring and reporting data must be monitored, accurate, and relevant to Company objectives.
  • Brief and update the OHS Manager daily on all matters related to safety within the operation, both verbally and written, where applicable.
