Job Summary:
The Head of Finance will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of Caravane Earth Foundation and its subsidiaries. This role requires strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization and its projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for the foundation's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the overall mission and objectives of Caravane Earth Foundation and its subsidiaries.
- Create long-term financial plans and budgets to ensure the sustainability of all ventures.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversee the preparation of annual budgets for the foundation and its subsidiaries.
- Monitor and report on financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial forecasts to guide strategic decision-making.
3. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the board of directors, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
4. Financial Management:
- Manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk to maintain the financial stability of the foundation and its subsidiaries.
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
5. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the foundation's assets.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
6. Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other department heads to align financial management with organizational goals.
7. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including donors, investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Represent the foundation in financial matters with partners and collaborators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Experience in the non-profit sector is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies and plans.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
