Position Overview:
As a Senior HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protection within our oil and gas operations. You will lead and manage HSE activities, develop and implement policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in HSE management and a deep understanding of the unique challenges in the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- HSE Leadership: Lead the HSE team, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international health, safety, and environmental regulations, including NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, and other relevant standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential HSE risks within operations and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
- Training & Development: Oversee HSE training programs, ensuring all employees and contractors are adequately trained and aware of their responsibilities.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all HSE activities, incidents, and compliance measures. Prepare and present regular HSE performance reports to senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing HSE practices and incorporating feedback from employees and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure effective communication and collaboration on HSE matters.
- Emergency Response: Develop and oversee emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for potential incidents and crises.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH certifications are mandatory.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE management within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
