Civil & Structural Engineer

Location : Oman – Ruwi

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Oman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and assessment of various structural projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards. The role involves working closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Structural Design: Develop structural designs for buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects using various materials such as steel, concrete, and timber.
  • Analysis: Perform structural analysis to ensure the stability, strength, and safety of structures. Use software tools such as SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS, and others.
  • Project Management: Oversee structural engineering aspects of projects from inception to completion, including preparing detailed engineering reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • Compliance: Ensure designs comply with Omani building codes, standards, and regulations, as well as international standards where applicable.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers to integrate structural elements into overall project designs.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any structural issues or challenges that arise during the design and construction phases.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including calculations, technical drawings, and reports.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on structural engineering matters.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the Middle East region.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS). Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Omani building codes and standards is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
