**Position Title:** Consultant Plastic Surgeon

**Job Summary:**
The Consultant Plastic Surgeon is responsible for providing expert surgical and non-surgical interventions to enhance, reconstruct, and repair the physical appearance and function of patients. This role requires extensive knowledge of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, patient care, and a commitment to excellence in surgical practice. The Consultant Plastic Surgeon will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care, ensuring the highest standards of safety and satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Clinical Care:**
- Perform a wide range of plastic and reconstructive surgeries, including but not limited to, aesthetic surgery (e.g., facelifts, rhinoplasty, breast augmentation), reconstructive surgery (e.g., post-trauma reconstruction, skin grafts), and non-surgical procedures (e.g., Botox, fillers).
- Evaluate and assess patients’ medical history, condition, and aesthetic goals to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Conduct pre-operative consultations, including discussing surgical options, risks, and expected outcomes with patients.
- Ensure comprehensive post-operative care, including follow-up consultations, monitoring of recovery, and managing complications.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in plastic surgery techniques and technology to provide state-of-the-art care.
2. **Patient Management:**
- Establish a trusting and empathetic relationship with patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including anesthetists, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists, to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including surgical notes, consent forms, and follow-up care documentation.
3. **Administrative Duties:**
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and hospital policies.
- Manage the surgical schedule, including coordinating operating room time, patient appointments, and multidisciplinary consultations.
- Participate in marketing and public relations activities to promote the plastic surgery department and attract new patients.
4. **Continuous Professional Development:**
- Engage in ongoing education and professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) programs.
- Maintain board certification and licensure as required by regulatory bodies.
**Qualifications:**
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a recognized residency in plastic surgery.
- Board certification in plastic surgery.
- Extensive experience in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
- Strong surgical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice.
- UK CCT or European.
**Preferred Experience:**
- Experience with advanced minimally invasive techniques and non-surgical aesthetic procedures.
- Participation in research and a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Leadership experience in a clinical setting.
