Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings and work instructions to identify different components and materials required for the assembly process
Test the printed circuit board with appropriate testing devices to ensure optimal efficiency, functionality, and that everything works according to design
Programme and operate PCB assembly equipment including Stencil Printers, Solder Paste Inspection, Pick and Place, Reflow Ovens, Selective Soldering Equipment, and Conformal Coating Equipment to run production volume ensuring maximum output and minimal quality issues
Manage inventory and replenishment of supplies while the Work Order is in process
Ensure that the assembled products conform to specifications; compare finished products to Customer BoM for accuracy in terms of components used, board population, electronic assembly, etc.
Inspect PCB Electronic Assemblies for defects, solder quality, parts alignment, missing parts, visual damage, etc.
Conduct in-circuit test (ICT) for shorts, resistance, and capacitance to assess whether the printed circuit boards (PCB) were correctly manufactured
Analyse and repair failures, component failures and manufacturing defects using light tools, hand tools, and electronic test and repair equipment
Conduct component level repair of PCBs to include soldering and de-soldering of through-hole and SMT components tasks in compliance with IPC Class III soldering standards
Send equipment that didn't pass inspection back to the assembly line for re-assembly
Carry out routine corrective and preventive maintenance of PCBs to ensure it is safe and efficient to operate at all times and produces maximum output
Maintain logs and records type and quantity of defective circuit boards and document PCB design and assembly procedures
Maintain clean and organized assembly workstations based on 5S principles
Comply with appropriate safety protocols and company policies at all times
