We're looking for a Barista to join our high-quality F&B Team here at Kingdom of Bahrain.

Job Summary

The Role of the Barista is to contribute to our success by providing legendary customer service providing them with exemplary service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. The Barista is responsible for acting in accordance with, and as an ambassador for our High-Class Restaurant guiding principles, culture, and values; embracing the coffee and beverage culture and keeping it at the heart of everything we do.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare non-alcohol beverages including coffee for restaurant patrons
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks
  • Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
  • Plan and present bar menu
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Embracing the coffee and Beverage culture and keeping it at the heart of everything we do
  • Discovering and responding to customers’ needs, providing product sampling and demonstrations to deliver the customers.
  • Follow the operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling, security and health and safety to ensure the safety of self, customers, and partners always.
  • Selling coffee and tea blends and brewing equipment, highlighting the differences between items, and educating customers about brewing methods.
  • Cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
  • Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends.
  • Recommend signage/menu/items to displays to attract customers.
  • Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
  • Working as part of a fun, high-energy team.
  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
  • Promotes the beverage list
  • Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions.
  • Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
  • Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, espresso lingo, caffe latte, and cappuccino.
  • Generates revenues by attracting new customers; defining new and expanded services and products.
  • Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to actively listen and verbally communicate with a wide range of people daily
  • Keen awareness of the value of customer service
  • Willingness to work a changing shift schedule, including early mornings
  • Aptitude for learning in on-the job in a fast-paced environment
  • Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome. Must verify information by compiling, coding and calculating data.
  • Must know or quickly learn general accounting and mathematical skills. Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as POS system.
  • Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.
  • Must work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma
  • Previous Barista experience and facility with a wide range of coffee and food service terminology

Contract length: 24 months.
