Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Ship Repair Manager with over 5 years of relevant experience to oversee and manage all aspects of ship repair and maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ship repair, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing repair projects efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee ship repair and maintenance projects from inception to completion. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of ship repair technicians and other staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding repair projects. Communicate progress, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials. Ensure that all resources are used efficiently and effectively.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all repair work meets industry standards and client specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all repair activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, including estimating costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of repair activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in ship repair operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ship repair or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Proficient in project management and resource allocation.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of ship repair processes, safety standards, and quality control procedures. Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in ship repair or marine engineering are advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- The role may require working in various environments, including shipyards and docks. Flexibility in working hours and occasional travel may be necessary.
