Our esteemed Client in Oman is looking for a highly motivated Assistant IT Infrastructure and Network Manager with the following Roles and Responsibilities
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant IT Infrastructure and Network Manager, The Assistant IT Infrastructure and Network Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, applications (Exchange etc.), and data center operations and to ensure the security, performance, and efficiency of IT systems while providing exceptional technical support to our users.
Responsibilities
- * Participate in data center design projects, ensuring network infrastructure aligns with physical layout, cooling requirements, and server/storage placement.
- Configure and manage data center network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) for optimal performance.
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions for the entire data center infrastructure, including network, servers, and storage.
- * Maintain a strong understanding of data center cabling standards and best practices.
- * Collaborate with the IT team to design secure and scalable network infrastructures that meet the company's needs, considering future data center growth.
- Plan and deploy network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, cabling systems) within the data center environment.
- Ensure smooth Launch of Mobile application Setup, Configuration and Support.
- * Work with server administrators to ensure network connectivity for servers. Configure and manage network storage solutions (SAN, NAS) for optimal data access and security. Participate in server and storage deployment projects, considering network implications.
- . Manage Windows Server, user accounts, security, backups, and system performance.
- * Manage Microsoft Exchange Server, including mailboxes, security, troubleshooting, and migration
- * Configure and manage firewalls, defining security policies and monitoring network traffic
- * Manage Active Directory, creating user accounts, groups, implementing Group Policy, and troubleshooting AD issues.
- * Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions, ensuring reliable data backups and restores.
- * Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks
- * Knowledge of designing and implementing secure systems. Expertise in handling security breaches and incidents effectively.
- * Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- * Knowledge of relevant security regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
- * Provide exceptional technical support to internal users regarding network, server, storage, and application connectivity issues.
- * Document network, server, storage, and application configurations and procedures for future reference and troubleshooting.
- * Stay up-to-date on the latest network, server, storage, application, and data center technologies and best practices.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in System Administration or in a similar role with experience in data center environments.
Qualifications
* In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, and virtualization technologies (VMware etc.)
* Strong understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server, Fortinet Products, Active Directory, backup and recovery solutions, and data center infrastructure.
* Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)), and data center certifications are a plus.
* Excellent Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
