Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sawmill Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating sawmill equipment, ensuring the quality of wood products, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various sawmill machinery, including band saws, circular saws, and planers.
- Monitor equipment for performance and safety issues, performing routine maintenance as needed.
- Sort, grade, and stack lumber according to specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in loading and unloading raw materials and finished products.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Conduct quality control inspections on wood products.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a sawmill or similar manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with sawmill equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of safety protocols and practices.
