Junior Buyer Baby fashion & Toddler Boys


  • Responsible for creating & implementing buying and product strategy and tactical plans for kids dept.
  • Products must reflect the retail trends at best commercial value, thereby ensuring delivery of sales and margins for the department.
  • Responsible for ensuring smooth buying operations through effective product planning, negotiation with suppliers,
  • Adequate stock management to meet the strategic goals of the department.
  • Build and communicate product strategy per season.
  • Have good understanding of trend and customer and convert the same into commercial product.
  • Responsible for negotiating the price and ensuring delivery arrangements with Suppliers/Vendors within a set timeline.
  • Build good communication with diff stake holders like design, planning, retail, sourcing, Quality and E-comm teams for the process of range direction and selection.
  • Maintain a good retail interface with territories on stock management and product feedback.
  • Liaise with VM & marketing team for effective product launch, visual display & media campaigns.ยท Deliver the sales and profit targets for the department.
  • Determine the buying requirements and formulates the buying plan along with planning as per budget for the assigned category, based on the analysis of the historical trends and future forecasts.
  • Identify and shortlist potential vendors as partners and negotiating the cost in line with desired level of margins.
  • Assure pre-production quality check is executed in a timely manner with quality control team collaboration.
  • Critical path management from merch direction to final stock received.
  • Provide inputs to sourcing department for sourcing strategy for the department.
  • Ensure constant cost reduction measures through centralized bulk buying and/ or selecting appropriate vendor mix
  • Review of shipment tracking and product approvals.
  • Conduct periodic store visits along with business manager to collect feedback from the stores and about competition to benchmark product range, quality and pricing
  • Gather information on fashion trends through trade shows/inspirational trips and utilise the same in building competitive product proposition.
