Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Expert/Senior Proficient to lead the financial reporting and tax functions of our domestic operations. This role involves overseeing the timely closing of accounts, managing internal audits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and incorporating changes in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in financial reporting, taxation, and telecom industry standards, with a proven ability to mentor and develop junior finance professionals.

Job Description:

  • Financial Closing Leadership: Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the company’s domestic books of accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Internal Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with internal auditors, ensuring that audits of domestic operations are conducted smoothly and in compliance with internal controls.
  • Executive Financial Reporting: Present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Corporate Management Team (CMT), adhering to agreed timelines.
  • Tax and Regulatory Compliance: Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of tax, royalty, and regulatory filings related to domestic operations.
  • IFRS Integration: Incorporate IFRS changes into the company’s financial reporting, discussing their impact with stakeholders and ensuring full compliance.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improved systems, processes, and accounting practices to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Team Development: Coach and mentor, the Senior Manager – Financial Reporting & Tax to independently manage the financial closing process and other key responsibilities.

Qualifications and Key Requirements:

  • Professional Certification: CA, ACCA, CIMA, or FCA.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of post-certification experience, with substantial involvement in financial reporting, tax, and financial closing within a telecom operator or similar large organization.
  • Expertise in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications financials and related regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to lead financial operations and mentor team members.
  • Highly developed analytical abilities with attention to detail and process optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly presenting complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
