Job duties and responsibilities
- Lead a team of steel workers in fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks.
- Ensure all work follows engineering drawings and project specifications.
- Assign tasks and ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools and materials.
- Allocate resources including tools and materials to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Conduct inspection and ensure all workers adhere to safety standards including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Monitor work progress and ensure timely completion.
- Maintain an accurate record of materials used and track inventory levels.
- Prepare daily or weekly reports on steel work progress highlighting any challenges or delays.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any steelwork-related issues that arise on-site.
Job qualifications/requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in steel construction and fabrication.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in steel fabrication or welding is a plus.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering plans.
- Knowledge of steel construction techniques and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
