Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the quality control plan for substation construction projects.
  • Preparation of method statement and ITP.
  • Ensure that construction processes and procedures comply with the project specifications, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct quality inspections at various stages of construction (, electrical installations, grounding, etc.).
  • Verify that materials, equipment, and systems meet specified standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials and components to ensure they meet the required specifications.
  • Perform or supervise inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, control systems, and other substation components.
  • Coordinate third-party testing and inspections, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and results, and prepare quality reports and documentation.
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure corrective actions are taken for any deviations or quality issues.
  • Review and approve quality-related documentation such as method statements, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and material submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards (ISO 9001, IEC, OSHA, etc.).
  • Monitor adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols during construction.
  • Participate in HSE audits and inspections as needed.
  • Collaborate with construction teams, project managers, and contractors to ensure timely execution of quality activities.
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, and external inspectors on quality-related issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel regarding quality control requirements.
